Karakoram Range

Karakoram Range (Chinese Karakorum Shan), mountain range of south central Asia, in the western Himalayas, extending from the eastern edge of Afghanistan into Jammu and Kashmir, a territory that is disputed by India and Pakistan. The range includes K2, also known as Mount Godwin Austen (8,611 m/28,251 ft), the second highest peak in the world.
